Meet the Staff

Maureen

As our dental hygienist, I work hard to make each patient's experience with us as comfortable as possible while caring for the health of their teeth and gums. Working here for just over two years, I have come to know many of our patients and their families, and I look forward to catching up with them during their appointments. Everyone in the office loves to laugh, and we love to share our sense of humor with everyone we meet. When not working, I enjoy spending time with my son and daughter, reading and watching movies. I am also involved with SmileTrain, which is an organization that performs cleft palate surgery for children in need.

I am our patient coordinator and am eager to provide a professional, warm, and caring environment so you can have a positive dental experience. From scheduling to paperwork to insurance, I strive to make your dental experience as painless as possible. Our doctors are true professionals and masters of their trade; they always go the extra mile. They would never settle for just average and always strive for true excellence. My fiancé’s name is Robert, and I have two teenage daughters, Jaime and Samantha, as well as a cat named Shay Shay. I have been a Girl Scout leader for the past eight years, and I enjoy cooking, bicycling, and spending time with my girls.

Being a dentist allows me to directly help people improve their health, happiness, and general well-being. Specializing in periodontics and dental implant surgery is intellectually stimulating, but even more so I get great satisfaction from knowing I’ve helped someone improve their dental function or given them the beautiful smile they’ve always wanted.

Education and Experience

  • Doctorate of Dental Surgery – State University of New York, Buffalo
  • General Practice Residency – St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, NY
  • Periodontology Residency – University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine

As a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, I have completed hundreds of hours of continuing education courses to ensure I am profoundly knowledgeable of the most recent innovations in the fields of periodontology and dental implantology. My patients deserve the very best care, and it is my goal to exceed their expectations at every turn.

Office Life

Our office has the friendliest environment I've ever encountered in a dental setting. We truly want our patients to feel as comfortable as possible when they’re with us. Dr. Matthews and Dr. Kellam are two of the most highly skilled practitioners I've ever had the pleasure to work with. We have a wonderful team approach to our practice, with our wonderful staff and doctors working together to ensure the best treatment outcomes and experience for our patients.

Outside the Office

When I’m not in the office I enjoy sports immensely, particularly basketball, football, and racquetball. I am also an avid reader, and my favorite book is the DaVinci Code.

As a dental assistant, I help our doctors during a wide range of dental procedures, take digital X-rays and order supplies. I try to make each patient’s experience as comfortable as it can possibly be. I love seeing the wonderful results our patients achieve and the happy smiles that leave our office. My husband, Erwin, and I have one son, Jonathan, two dogs named Maximus and Juicy, and a cat named Party Boy. In my free time I enjoy outdoor activities and spending time with my son.
